Tuscany: The Renaissance Dream
Before we found our overgrown paradise in Le Marche, we spent a lot of time travelling the iconic region of Tuscany. It is, for many, the quintessential image of Italy—and for good reason. Tuscany is a masterpiece of rolling hills lined with perfectly straight cypress trees and world-class vineyards. Florence is an obvious must-see (avoid crowds and visit it best outside of the summer season..) and Siena’s summer evenings are amazing. Tuscany is the gold standard for Italian elegance and a place where every corner looks like a postcard.
Even though we chose the Adriatic side of the mountains, Tuscany is still very much within reach. From our hill in Ripatransone, you can drive westward through the heart of Italy and reach the Tuscan border in about 2 hours. We love Tuscany for a weekend getaway to soak up some Renaissance history before returning to the peace of our farm.
